Retrospect

Packaging Design. Illustrations. 

Retrospect is a collection of five different retro toys. The toys include a yoyo, rubix, slinky, airplane and fishing game. The goal for this project is to redesign the packaging and to increase the perceived value of the line of toys.

The concept, “awake your divine treasure”, is used to unlock the consumers’ most treasurable childhood memories. Various classic wooden treasure boxes are used for packaging. This creates a sense of déjà vu the moment the consumers see these boxes and allows the consumers to revisit their childhood memories. The design system echoes a sense of vintage by using specific patterns, illustrations and colours. Also, photos of different facial expressions are used to reflect the consumers’ inner happiness and emotions when they enjoy the toys.
